Fall Family Fun - Beavercreek, OH - Wright-Patt Realty

Halloween is almost here, and that means it's time for some fall-themed family fun. This includes carving pumpkins, going on hayrides, and finding the area's best corn mazes!

We love the holiday season in the Beavercreek area! Our REALTORS® always enjoy exploring local festivals and area pumpkin patches so they can share their best finds with new residents. Here are a few that they recommend visiting this year.

  • Lucas Bros. Fall Fest 2020: 3229 Ferry Rd., Bellbrook, OH 45305
Lucas Bros. Fall Fest is a fun, family-friendly event that runs every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from September 25th through November 1st. Some of the activities you'll find here include a pick-your-own pumpkin patch, farm animal interactions, and a free straw maze. If you have some time to spare, plan to take a hayride through the woods, and get lost in the almost 5-acre corn maze.

This picturesque farm is a short drive from Kettering, Springboro, and the surrounding Dayton area. It's also not far from some of the best Bellbrook homes for sale.

DIY or Pro - Home Remodeling - Wright-Patt Realty

Doing home improvements yourself can help you save a lot of money and increase your home's value. Homeowners with Beavercreek homes for sale often ask our REALTORS® which types of jobs they should do to help them get more for their property. The answer? It depends. Unless you're a contractor, plumber, or electrician, some improvements should be performed by professionals.

Things to Take into Consideration Before Going DIY or Professional

Significant improvements can be costly. One of the main reasons homeowners consider doing projects themselves is budget. Putting your own time and energy into them can be well worth it, but it can also decrease the value of your home or even be dangerous if you don't know what you're doing. Sure, YouTube videos and DIY articles can help, but some things should be left to professionals, such as electrical work, HVAC, and major plumbing projects.

Wright-Patt AFB History - Wright-Patt Realty

Happy birthday, US Air Force! The Air Force was officially born on September 18, 1947, when President Harry S. Truman signed the National Security Act, which restructured some parts of the military and officially established the US Air Force as a separate branch of the military. Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, which is such an important part of our community, was also officially established in 1947, although as you'll soon see, the aeronautical pursuits here began much earlier. Our REALTORS® have the details, in our history of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.

  • Where the Wright Brothers Once Again Took Flight
The history of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base begins long before the base was officially established, when Orville and Wilbur Wright returned to Ohio following their work at Kittyhawk. The Wright brothers continued their aeronautical work at Huffman Prairie Flying Field, which is now part of Wright Patterson Air Force Base, from 1904 to 1905. They used the field to perfect their Wright Flyer, before turning their attention to training pilots at Huffman Prairie Flying Field from 1910 through 1916. Today, you can still find a marker at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base on the spot where the Wright Brothers' hangar was located.

Good news: If you've been thinking about selling your home, now's the best time to go for it.

In March, buyers and sellers alike were worried that COVID-19 would lead to a bumpy housing market. Luckily, those predictions have been avoided. The housing market is strong and there are plenty of great reasons why you should take action without delay. Let's take a closer look at six of the biggest ones.
