Rural Living - Buy a Home - Wright-Patt Realty

"Keep Manhattan, just give me that countryside." So sang Oliver Douglas, a big-city lawyer who gave it up for the joys of rural living in Green Acres. If you're considering a similar move, our REALTORS® offer a helpful five-point checklist to determine which is the right lifestyle for you.

  1. Do You Prefer the Sounds of Silence?
Cities have a perpetual soundtrack composed of elements such as traffic noise, construction, and chatter. Some people derive a sense of energy from the noise, which is a by-product of the city's constant activities. For others, the layered sounds serve as white noise, providing soothing reassurance of day-to-day life. If you find high levels of noise create stress that prevents you from fully relaxing, even during leisure time, the quiet ambience of rural areas may be more to your liking.

Wright-Patt AFB History - Wright-Patt Realty

Happy birthday, US Air Force! The Air Force was officially born on September 18, 1947, when President Harry S. Truman signed the National Security Act, which restructured some parts of the military and officially established the US Air Force as a separate branch of the military. Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, which is such an important part of our community, was also officially established in 1947, although as you'll soon see, the aeronautical pursuits here began much earlier. Our REALTORS® have the details, in our history of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.

  • Where the Wright Brothers Once Again Took Flight
The history of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base begins long before the base was officially established, when Orville and Wilbur Wright returned to Ohio following their work at Kittyhawk. The Wright brothers continued their aeronautical work at Huffman Prairie Flying Field, which is now part of Wright Patterson Air Force Base, from 1904 to 1905. They used the field to perfect their Wright Flyer, before turning their attention to training pilots at Huffman Prairie Flying Field from 1910 through 1916. Today, you can still find a marker at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base on the spot where the Wright Brothers' hangar was located.

Highlight Square Footage - Sell a Home - Wright-Patt Realty

With everyone spending more time at home due to the pandemic, potential buyers are now looking for increased square footage in homes. They tend to look for more living space and outdoor features and favor these attributes over granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and other amenities that don't affect the amount of living space.

Our REALTORS ® explain why homebuyers want more square footage when they're looking for Beavercreek homes for sale and how sellers can make the most of available space to appeal to buyers.
