Superintendent and avid golfer Tom Birt, the event goes from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Register a team of four to play, and get 18 holes and use of the driving range for the day, plus breakfast, lunch, refreshments, and a goodie bag.   Most people nowadays celebrate Memorial Day with a barbecue or a pool party, while forgetting the deeper meaning of the holiday—the brave men and women who gave their lives in the service of our country. There's nothing wrong with celebrating with family, friends, and food, but if you also want to take the time to honor that sacrifice, head to Beavercreek's Memorial Day Ceremony, Monday, May 26 at 2 p.m. Held in Veterans Memorial Park, the event is a commemoration of our veterans who died while serving in the armed forces.   If you find yourself with a free Sunday evening in June or July, head to Dominick Lofino Park for the Beavercreek Summer Concert Series. Different bands will be playing all types of music throughout the summer. See indie/folk band the Wayward J's on June 1, hear bluegrass from Berachah Valley on June 15, rock out to Mosaic Church Band's Motown jams on July 20, experience your favorite classic rock hits with Streetwise Band Cincinnati on July 27, and many others. Each concert has a food truck booked, too, so you can grab a bite. Concerts go from 7-8 p.m., but come early to get a good seat.
  
  
• Fourth of July Celebration - 2260 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, OH 45434
  If you're looking for Independence Day festivities, head to the Fourth of July Celebration at Rotary Park. It starts at 6 p.m., Friday, July 4, with a parade down Daytona-Xenia Road, from Meadow Bridge Drive to Beavercreek High School. If you sign up now, you can even be part of the parade yourself, wearing your best red, white, and blue. Then at 7 p.m. in the park, there will be live music, food trucks, children's activities, and more, culminating at 10 p.m. in an impressive fireworks display. Arrive before 8 p.m. if you want to park at Rotary Park, or park in the high school parking lot or municipal maintenance facility. However you decide to get there, it's an event you won't want to miss.
