In wintertime, we get a little restless staying home, what with the gray skies and cold temperatures. One of the best remedies for the wintertime blues we know is visiting some of our local eateries for a bite or a drink, and in some establishments, a nice, cozy seat by the fire.
It's great that you're keeping warm in the house you chose from Beavercreek homes for sale, but everybody needs to get out and about a little, especially in winter. So if you don't know where to go, here are some great suggestions from our REALTORS®.
- The Pub. 39 Greene Blvd., Beavercreek.
There's nothing like a taste of Merry Olde England to raise your spirits in the winter. The Pub, located in the Greene Town Center, is just the right venue for meeting up with friends for some beers or, even better, some English fare fit for a king or queen. Start with Bellhaven Beer Cheese or a Scotch Egg for an appetizer, then follow up with some Pub Sliders or Beer-Battered Fish, if you're just popping in for a snack. If you're ready for the main event, try the Welsh Dip (prime rib), Mum's Pot Roast, or the ever-delightful Bangers and Mash. Of course, your meal should be accompanied with Stout or an Ale (are you up for a delightful but seriously stout Delirium Tremens?), a bracing Whiskey, or on the lighter side, Crabbie's Ginger Beer.
- Basil's on Market. 2729 Fairfield Commons Blvd., Beavercreek
The slogan for Basil's on Market says it's all about inspired comfort food, and we couldn't agree more. Situated next to the Fairfield Commons Mall, Basil's also likes to say that their menu "takes comfort food favorites to the next level." It's a bistro offering superior appetizers, soups and salads, sandwiches, and desserts. Start with Tomato Basil's Bruschetta or Deviled Eggs; move on to Tomato Basil Bisque or Sweet Chili Salmon Salad; then launch yourself into a Prime Burger or Gourmet Pizza. Have a serious appetite? How about N.Y. Strip, Pork Rib Eye, Baby Back Ribs, or Lobster Mac and Cheese? Basil's also has some lighter fare if that's your pleasure.
- La Colombiana Restaurante. 2495 Commons Blvd., Beavercreek
How lucky we are in Beavercreek to have a traditional Colombian cafe like La Colombiana Restaurante. If you're not familiar with Colombian fare, now's your chance to sample fresh Platano con Queso; Patacones (fried green plantains) and shredded beef, chicken, vegetable medley, or shrimp; Choripapas (Colombian sausage and potatoes); Empanadas — and the menu just goes on. Try it!
- Osaka Japanese Steakhouse. 2476 Commons Blvd., Beavercreek
Seems like Sushi and Japanese Hibachi, once a rarity, are everywhere, and Beavercreek is no exception, with our own Osaka Japanese Steakhouse. Sushi's just right if you're wanting to eat something on the light side. There's also delicious steak, chicken, and seafood cooked on the hibachi for more substantial appetites, and then there's the fiery fun of food being prepared fresh at your table. Don't forget to inquire about some of the generous discounts for veterans and seniors.
- Jaqua's American Bistro. 81 Magnolia Lane, Beavercreek
Next time you're planning to trek to Greene Town Center, include Jaqua's American Bistro in your plans. The menu is expansive, chef-inspired, and creative. Start with Bacon-Wrapped Prawns, Charred Brussels Sprouts, or Fried Green Tomatoes, and then delve into ingenious Flatbreads (Veggie Delight will absolutely delight), then on to the Entrees, including Bourbon-Glazed Salmon, sizzling Steaks, and Barramundi.
How can you resist these local bites? We suggest you don't. Need more suggestions on where to go in Beavercreek? Contact Wright-Patt Realty.
