Did you know February 24th is National Tortilla Chip Day? It's not the biggest holiday of the year, but that doesn't mean you should miss out on the celebration! Our REALTORS® love visiting local Mexican restaurants on weekends for a dinner they know won't disappoint. Here are their recommendations for where you should dine:
Don Patron - 2632 Colonel Glenn Hwy, Beavercreek
This Mexican grill serves up classic comfort dishes as well as daily specials to keep the experience fresh. They have a variety of savory burritos, from the Cozumel, a pork burrito with tomato, onion, bell pepper, and special brown sauce, to the Cancun, a rice-stuffed burrito with pinto beans, mushrooms, and cream sauce. You'll also find comfy staples like chimichangas, fajitas, and tacos. If you're wanting something healthier, try one of their vegetarian options.
Taqueria Tres Hermanos - 5392 Burkhardt Rd Dayton
This Dayton restaurant will make you appreciate the quality of hand-crafted cuisine! They have a variety of tacos, from chicken and steak to Chile Relleno. Their Mexican subs are also tasty and filling, with twists on Cubana and Hawaiana. Taqueria Tres Hermanos also has a plethora of simple but delicious plates, like their Milanesa (breaded chicken or steak), Bistec Guisado (slow-cooked steak), and Mole de Pollo (chicken in Mole sauce).
El Toro - 2420 N. Fairfield Rd Beavercreek
El Toro just opened their most recent location in Beavercreek, so show this local chain some support by trying out their stellar Mexican dishes! The Authentic Mexican street tacos are a must-try, especially when you order them with carnitas or campechano (steak and chorizo). If you're wanting to cut back on the calories, El Toro also offers a variety of tasty salads, such as the Fajita Salad which has beans, rice, guacamole, lettuce, pico de galla, and sour cream. Dinner combo options are also available, where you have just about every combination of enchilada, taco, and burrito you could think of.
El Rancho Grande - 3070 Colonel Glenn Hwy, Fairborn
The slogan for El Rancho Grande is "The Best of Mexican Food," and it's hard to argue with that once you've tried. Start off with a great appetizer — the Nacho Jalisco are perfect for sharing — and then pick out one of the many fajita, burrito, or enchilada options for your main course. There are flavorful plate entrees too, such as the Pollo Loco, Pollo Rico, and Lindos Special which all come served up using fresh vegetables. For dessert, sink your teeth into sweet churros or the delectable fried ice cream.
Rusty Taco - 2760 Towne Drive Beavercreek
If you're in the mood for tacos, it's hard to find a better spot than Rusty Taco. This high quality chain crafts handmade street tacos with savory proteins like shrimp, fish, roasted pork, fried chicken, and more. But if you're not feeling as carnivorous, try the Black Bean Taco or the Cauliflower Taco — both vegetarian options that don't hold back on flavor. If you're stopping by in the morning, Rusty Taco has an assortment of breakfast tacos that are a fun way to kick off your morning.
