Our REALTORS® are thrilled to share some of the top places to go in and around Beavercreek to snap some images.
- The Narrows. 2575 Indian Ripple Road, Beavercreek, OH
This small suburban park in Beavercreek is a perfect place for a nature hike in any season. Trails in The Narrows are well marked and easy to follow. Walk along a scenic creek this spring and shoot blankets of colorful flowers in the spring. Although you're not very far from a residential area, this is a nice get-away. Take pictures of the kids at the nature center, bee apiaries, and the bird rescue house. The parking lot can fill up fast, as this park can be heavily used by paddlers, but if you can get there on a weekday, you can avoid some of the crowds. (Paddlers can inspire some cool images, by the way.) If you take all the trails and loops you can end up walking as much as 5 miles.
- Shoup Park. 1341 Meadowbridge Dr, Beavercreek, OH
This is actually more of a playground than a bona fide park, but if you've got kids, it'll be good to know there's a convenient place nearby for them to play and for you to shoot a multitude of images to share with friends and family. There are also some cool concrete turtles to serve as a backdrop, as well as a super long slide where you're bound to get some memorable shots of the kiddos. Many families make it a point to visit Shoup Park whenever they are in the Beavercreek area.
- Sweet Arrow Reserve. 789 Little Sugarcreek Road. Sugarcreek Township, OH.
Just down the road from The Narrows is Sweet Arrow Reserve in Sugarcreek Township. The park has 263 acres of woodland, prairies, and meadows, with seven different well-marked trail loops ranging from .5 to 1.5 miles in length. You can explore on your own and practice nature photography or go for a guided tour. This is a good place to walk — and photograph — your dog.
- The Greene Town Center. 4452 Buckeye Lane, Beavercreek, OH.
The Greene Town Center is a well-maintained shopping area. Have a shop at JCrew or lululemon, then take some refreshment at Pies and Pints or Pasha Grill. You can also take in a movie. Otherwise, just stroll about, practicing your snaps in a commercial setting with good lighting.
- Wegerzyn Gardens. 1301 E. Siebenthaler Ave., Dayton, OH.
This is the place to go if you have a wedding, prom, or another special occasion to photograph. Otherwise, just enjoy the scenery at Wegerzyn Gardens, because there's plenty of it. Some of the choice sites to shoot: the Giant Pedestal Oak; the Formal Gardens; the Children's Discovery Gardens; Marie Aull Nature Trail, honoring the "mother" of the southwestern Ohio environmental movement; the Swamp Forest; and the Community Gardens.
The Beavercreek area has a lot to offer, so whenever the weather allows, get out there and explore. Contact Wright-Patt Realty for advice about where to go, as well as how to get ready to list your home.
