We love our family photos and are constantly looking for new, creative ways to show them off in our homes. The benefits of decorating a space with family photos are two-fold: you're constantly reminded of your loved ones and you can also add some beautiful decor to your living space. Family photo displays come in all shapes, sizes, patterns, and styles. We were so inspired by the way the owners of some of these Beavercreek homes for sale were displaying their family photos, so we decided to create a list of tips to help you create a unique display for your home. Below are some unique design patterns you can try:
- Photo Collage With Small Tiles
Try printing small square prints of your favorite travel photos, and create several long rows inside a large frame. You can go as large as you like — the bigger the frame and the more photos you add, the more eye-popping the display will be. This idea works really well with Instagram photos.
- Mix Black And White With Color
If you really want to create an artsy, modern look, set up a wall display where you alternate color with black and white photos. Just make sure your photos are the same dimensions and keep your wall pattern symmetrical.
- Hang One Large Photo
If you have a beautiful landscape photo or something scenic, consider blowing it up into a large photo (think poster size) and framing it. The photo will likely need to be high quality for this to work (non-iPhone), but it can really have beautiful results. Try hanging it on the living room wall or above your bed.
- Create A Gallery Wall
Devoting an entire wall to family photos has been a popular design trend for decades. Our REALTORS® love creating different gallery wall designs with family photos. While photos can be different sizes, the key is to ensure the frames match and are spaced an equal distance apart.
- Create Contract With A Colored Wall
If you have a room in your house that is painted a bold or vibrant color, adding photos in white or bright frames is a great way to create contrast. Black and white photos often work best for this type of display.
- Alternate Horizontal And Vertical Photos
If you have a bunch of frames that are identical in color and size, you can still create interesting patterns by alternating horizontal and vertical photos. The key here is consistent spacing, but you can really get creative with this approach.
- Floating Ledges
Displaying framed photos on short floating ledges can create a really classy look, especially in the living room or bedroom. Floating ledges come in all different lengths — try either a long horizontal ledge or three short ones stacked vertically.
- Wired Grid Display
If you're looking for more structure to your family photo display, try a wired grid. You can use close pins, paper clips, or any other fastener to mount your photos to the grid in any way you like. You can create a wild look while relying on the grid to maintain some structure. This look works really well in a bedroom.
