Sunday Drives Around Beavercreek, OH - Wright-Patt Realty

Who doesn't love a relaxing weekend drive? Whether you've got a car packed full with family or you're taking your motorcycle on the open road, cruising around the Beavercreek area is the perfect way to get some fresh air and discover the hidden gems around town. Here are a few drives near Dayton that our REALTORS® think you'll enjoy on a sunny, Sunday afternoon.

  • Miami & Erie Canal Scenic Byway
A 50-mile stretch running north to south, the Miami & Erie Canal Scenic Byway can be enjoyed starting in Piqua and heading north to Delphos. One of the highlights of this jaunt is passing by Lake Loramie State Park, a perfect place to pull over and rest for lunch. We love this route because it offers an opportunity to explore fantastic off-the-beaten-path places like the city of St. Marys. Because the route was constructed parallel to the Miami & Erie Canal, there are plenty of opportunities for boaters, nature-lovers, and fishermen to enjoy the waterways surrounding the byway.

  • Tour of Beavercreek
With I-675 and Route 35 providing quick throughways around Beavercreek, most people can easily bypass the opportunity to discover everything the town has to offer. Begin your tour of Beavercreek heading south on Grange Hall Road at Kemp Road. Pass by the schools, skateparks, and sports fields that make Beavercreek a great place to raise children. Then turn east on Indian Ripple Road and head back north up Factory Road where the Little Miami River and The Narrows Reserve rest. After passing over Creekside Reserve and Little Beavercreek, continue onto Beaver Valley Road on the outskirts of town. Finally, leave Russ Nature Preserve and Koogler Wetland Prairie Reserve behind as you head west on New Germany Trebein Road, completing the route back at Grange Hill Road.

  • Historic National Road
The Historic National Road runs from Maryland to Illinois, and while this 700+ mile stretch may be a little much to take on during a Sunday afternoon, you can easily explore a portion that runs through Ohio. On this route, just north of Beavercreek, you'll pass historic buildings and pass over the original bridges constructed. With over 220 miles of roadway in the state, the easiest place to pick up and get off near Beavercreek is by cruising the stretch between Phoneton and Donnelsville.

  • Land of the Cross-Tipped Churches Scenic Byway
For another historic ride, we suggest riding the 40-mile Land of the Cross-Tipped Churches Scenic Byway. Beginning near the Indiana state line just east of Celina and running southeast almost to Anna, this roadway is full of cross-tipped churches that have been added to the National Register of Historic Places. Forts, museums, and natural areas dot this region of farmland that offers a great getaway from the busyness of the larger cities.
