Hometown Holiday Walk 2017

This year marks the fifteenth anniversary of Centerville's Hometown Holiday Walk and is scheduled to take place Sunday, November 19 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM. Each year the Merchant's Association brings this exciting event to Downtown Centerville. It's a leisurely daylong adventure filled with joyful family fun. You can eat, view a live Nativity scene, visit merchants for special sales, and more.

Begin your adventure at Town Hall Theatre on Main Street. There you can claim your free "Hometown Holiday Walk" tote-bag filled with discount coupons from local merchants and a schedule of the day's activities. You can also buy a raffle ticket. From the theatre, you can stroll leisurely through town or take a free carriage ride. The event offers something for every member of your family.

Entertainment

Your family will enjoy a day filled with activities, songs, and holiday cheer.

• Strolling Carolers: The Centerville High School Symphonic Choir will stroll the streets and entertain you with holiday selections.
• Holiday Songs: The Centerville Community Chorus performs holiday songs from 3 to 4 PM at the theatre.
• Symphonic Choir: The Centerville Arts Commission will sponsor a performance by the Centerville High School Symphonic Choir.
• Museum tours: Walton House Museum and Asahel Wright Museum (home of Wilbur and Orville Wright) will be open and decorated for the holidays.
• Kids Crafts and Games: Children can make crafts and play games at the School Museum. They will enjoy cookies and hot cider during the activities.
• Santa: Children can visit Santa for a free photo at Town Hall Theatre from 1 to 5 PM.

Food Trucks

Tin Roof Mobile Food, The Vistro, Shantz Express, and Chicago Gyro and dogs will sell food specialties from food trucks parked at Main and Franklin Streets.

Annual Raffle

Centerville and Washington Township merchants donated over $1,000 in merchandise for this year's gift basket raffle. Money from ticket sales will benefit Centerville nonprofit, Hannah's Treasure Chest. Hannah's delivers care packages with clothing, toys, safety equipment, and other necessities to needy families throughout the region.

Tree Lighting Ceremony

You can end your day with music, dance, and song at the 25th Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony at Benham's Grove. Centerville Community Band will perform. Cline Elementary Cougar Chorus will sing. Miami Valley Dance Company will perform dances from "Nutcracker." After Santa makes a final appearance, Mayor Brooks Compton will signal an official start to the holiday season by lighting the community tree.
