Can you believe that the Fourth of July is already around the corner? Independence Day is always an important celebration in our corner of Ohio, and a great opportunity for the communities around Fairborn, Ohio to come together for fun, family-friendly special events. 1. Centerville-Washington Township American Festival Fireworks Show
Where: Centerville High School Football Stadium – 500 East Franklin Street, Centerville
When: All day festival, free concert at 8 pm, fireworks at 10 pm
What to Expect: The Centerville-Washington Township Americana Festival is full of food, history, and family fun for all ages. It all starts at 10 am, with a parade that many people with homes in Centerville will be able to watch from their front lawn. In the evening, you'll be treated to a free, live concert that kicks off at 8 pm, followed by a fireworks spectacular that is the perfect way to close out your Independence Day celebrations.
Where: Downtown Dayton – 111 E. Monument Ave. at Metroscape Park, Dayton
When: Live music starts at 5 pm, with fireworks following at 10 pm
What to Expect: Homes in Dayton are very popular because there is always something interesting going on in the city. Enjoy a multi-cultural festival that lasts all day long, followed by a stacked schedule of evening entertainment. The City of Dayton Lights event concludes with some fantastic fireworks at 10 pm.
3. Fairborn Fourth of July Parade and Fireworks
Where: Fairborn Community Park – 691 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn
When: Parade in the morning, with fireworks kicking off after dusk
What to Expect: The Fourth of July festivities in Fairborn actually start on July 3rd, when people with homes in Fairborn get together for a big, community-wide block party. Events on the Fourth of July start with a parade in the morning and continue with an impressive fireworks display after the sun goes down.
4. Star Spangled Huber Heights Fireworks Display
Where: Thomas A. Cloud Park – 4707 Brandt Pike, Huber Heights
When: Saturday July 1, starting at 10 am
What to Expect: If you're one of the lucky residents with homes in Huber Heights, you'll have the option of celebrating the Fourth of July twice this year. The Star Spangled Fireworks Display takes place on July 1st, with a parade in the morning, an all-day festival, and a great fireworks show at night to put a bow on the proceedings. You'll even be free to attend another celebration on the Fourth, since Huber Heights celebrates a little early.
5. Kettering Go Fourth Fireworks
Where: Delco Park – 1700 Delco Park Dr., Kettering
When: All day event, fireworks after dark
What to Expect: Go fourth, and celebrate! Kettering homes put you in perfect position to enjoy one of the area's best Fourth of July Celebrations, and the fun lasts all day long. There are food trucks, vendors, and PlayZone for the kids running throughout the day, so you'll be more than ready to grab a chair, sit back, and take in the show when the fireworks start after dark.
